How to generate Management Accounts in ProudNumbers

Introduction

1. Data Import

• Launch ProudNumbers: Open the ProudNumbers application on your computer.
• Import Data: Navigate to “Imports” and use the built-in wizard to import your financial data from Sage 50. This process ensures that all relevant transactions and Charts of Accounts are accurately imported into ProudNumbers.

2. Report Generation

• Navigate to Management Accounts:In the main menu, select "Management Accounts" to begin creating a new report.
• Click 'New': Start a new management account report by clicking the 'New' button.
• Customise Parameters: Set the parameters for your report to tailor it to your specific requirements:
  
  • Date Ranges: Define the start and end dates for the reporting period.
  • Period Selection: Choose the reporting period, such as monthly, quarterly, or annually.
  • Include Prior Year Comparative: Opt to include data from the previous year for comparison.
  • Chart of Accounts: Select the Chart of Accounts for the report. ProudNumbers allows you to use the existing Chart of Accounts from Sage 50 or create a customised one within the application.
  • Filter Year-End Journal: Decide whether to include or exclude year-end journal entries in your report.
• Generate Report: Once all parameters are set, click 'OK' to generate the report. ProudNumbers will compile the data and produce a detailed report in an Excel-like format, complete with formulas and drill-down capabilities for further analysis.

3. Adding a Company Logo

Adding your company logo enhances the professionalism and branding of your reports. The logo appears on the front page of your Management Accounts report.

• Upload Logo: Select your company’s logo file from your computer. Ensure the image is in JPEG format and place it in the following directory:
  C:\ProgramData\Hexner Software\ProudNumbers\Logo

4. Creating a New Chart of Accounts

If you prefer not to use the Chart of Accounts set up in Sage 50, ProudNumbers allows you to create and customise your own.

• Navigate to Chart of Accounts: In the main menu, select "Chart of Accounts".
• Create New Chart: Click 'Create New Chart' to start building a customised Chart of Accounts.

5. Export and Analysis

• Export to Excel: For further analysis or presentation purposes, you can export the report to Excel. This allows for additional computations or integration with other data sets.
• Review and Interpret: Analyse the generated reports to gain insights into your financial performance.
